Benson Che, RMT

After successfully completing a two year 2500 hour massage therapy program at Sutherland-Chan Teaching & Clinic, I became a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario as well as a member with the Ontario Massage Therapist Association and a registered massage therapist

During my two year of intensive training at Sutherland-Chan Teaching & Clinic I was immersed in a variety of different classes, learning diverse techniques and working with various different people. I was fortunate to work with people of all ages, from Diabetic patients at the West Park Long Term Rehabilitation Centre to nervous dysfunctional patients at the David Croll facility. I also had the privilege to attend several other outreaches treating patients with serious diseases/conditions. All of there outreaches have provided me with more knowledge and ability to work with a variety of people and conditions.

My training at Sutherland-Chan Teaching & Clinic also consisted of taking course on human anatomy and physiology, pathologies and conditions, neurology and critical thinking. I also completed 100 hands on student clinic hours which allowed me to utilize the different techniques that I was learning during my schooling. The specific techniques I was learning were; Swedish massage techniques, myofascial release neuromuscular techniques as well as sports massage.

My goals as a massage therapist are to help those recover from injury and decrease their pain, as well as increase relaxation through massage therapy. I hope to educate the public more about massage therapy and its benefits and teach them how to stretch/strengthen muscles needed to remain well. During my treatments I like to focus on releasing tension in muscles, working on maintaining good blood circulation throughout the body and decreasing pain. Through Swedish massage techniques, deep tissue treatments as well as specific stretching techniques I believe I can achieve client’s goals of maintaining wellness.
